Gary,
Wake up and smell the roses, the world is changing! Does anyone really care whose ic's or flash memory is in their VCR's or cell phones? No!
And so will go the PC, not tomorrow or the next day, but it will happen! Intel has rested on it's laurels far too long! Who else could market or have had the opportunity to market the SX chip, the P60-66, and next, the Pentium II. Intel has handed AMD and Cyrix this opportunity by not moving to better technologies quickly enough! This is a wakeup call to Intel and is long over due. It may very well wake the sleeping giant, but it is time, we will all benefit by better, faster, and cheaper PCs.
A good comparison is the auto industry in the US, it took the inferior imports taking market share while they dozed to wake them into innovation and the fact that they actually had competition from no longer inferior companies!
Who benefits? We do!

OK, Flame me! ;-)

All the Best,
Tim

Hi Gary,

Can you explain Intel's advantages in IC manufacturing technology?

TIA,

Bob

Question:

Should I buy AMD or SEG [SeaGate] ???

I am thinking of selling my AMD at a substantial loss [$ 20 a share Loss]
and buying SEG which has gone down by the same amount or so ....

I think that while HDD are cyclical, that SEG as market leader
has a better chance of going up the slope...

What do you guys think...

Let me know
Take care
Jean
