Most options sold expire worthless, so carry on with our option sales, but only covered calls and the astutely timely naked puts. I do not buy close end country funds, but I understand why US based investors would. Try the Morgan Stanley "WEBS" - much lower effective management fee and zero human error on allocation/management. I think your Gates-Trump vs Son comparison is spot on. Having spent a good deal of time on HK and SEAsian shares, and as I had earlier posted - invest in the parent (i.e. invest mainly in 9984 as opposed to Yahoo Japan). Can trade in the offsprings based on temporary pricing anomolies, but invest in the parent.
