bp,

In the internet, much like the early stages of T.V., it is extremely important who is first to lay claim on people's hearts and minds. That is why Microsoft, with all its might and glory failed to displace AOL.Armostrong is much smarter than repeating the same mistake. What people fail to realize is that Armostrong's primary motive in going after cable infrastructure is not provididing broadband internet access. It is to go head to head with RBOC's local phone service. He is smart enough to know not to alienate an ISP with 17 million subscribers, increasing at an ever increasing rate. Eventually , you will see a deal between T and AOL. My point was that , at the present time , that should not be AOL's first priority, which is not. At the present, AOL is focusing on getting these subscribers to sign on from their home, their office, their car, their Cell phone, their computer, their T.V., etc.

with respect to the stock price, look when the run ups are in the 200 to 300 percent range, the corrections will be in the 30 to 40 percent rate. These are volatile stocks. One can go crazy following their daily movements. Ask someone who bought MSFT in 1988!! The point is if someone believes in AOL's business and its management, which I do, the stock take cares of itself over the long haul.
