<<Each of the surplus rich broadcast network providers has a real strategic interest in positioning their organizations for survival and a piece of future Internet profits. >>

wouldn't it be nice to be the video on demand in demand ...
because
the vast influence assumed by IT,
the portent of ubiquitous computing [ in marc weiser's vision]
and the final implications of MULTICASTING
as a cohesive backdrop to our life experience ensure that the
race for "positioning" must surely be high stakes.

Nice post, Ed.

I tend to rule out GE/NBC/Snap/Cyclone because NBC owns a piece of Net broadcasting enabler, ITVU (about 10 percent, I think). DIS/SEEK is a tougher call; not sure what it has going in this area, but it's awfully quiet. CBS is interesting because it's making lots of noise and wouldn't seem to be able to pull off Net TV without the kinds of resources AXC is building.

Anybody have any insight?
