Philips/Magnavox or Sony or Hitachi or Sanyo could easily put out EPAC music players by late fall - my guess would be Sony, but who knows? Also interesting sidebar in 4/26 EE Times re SNDK; Merrill-Lynch says market for CompactFlash cards may jump from 2.4 MM to more than 5.8 MM in '99. End users are digital cameras, internet music and digital video recorders. SanDisk said cost could drop below $1/MB early next year. See story at eetimes.com .
