Bill, Joe made quite a stretch of logic:

1. The p/e of the naz is 25 because it is correct to look at the p/e of the average stock rather than the effects of capitalization weighted index (who can check on the veracity of the 25 number?). Very distorting according to him meaning there were lots of stocks with good value.

2. Therefor, the naz represented good value given inflation at 2 to 2.5%

3. Inflation wasn't coming back (take his word for it)

4. Conclusion, what would you buy? MSFT, CSCO, LU...etc. The high p/e stocks.

=====
The high p/e stocks are the ones to buy but don't count them in the p/e ratio calculation?????????

Bill F, re: Bear/Bull debate/CNBC
Since you guys are on only once a month, why can't CNBC give you more time?
For example, I think the audience would have been interested in some flesh on the P/E debate. Very contradictory statements were presented but you got cut off before either could develop the point. And since the discussion was relative to tech, I think your position on the Nasdaq was more important to the subject. Loved it when you said you were shorting Joeys list. <g>
Anyone in particular I should e-mail at CNBC?
