Mexico stocks end at record on Greenspan, banks

MEXICO CITY, May 6 (Reuters) - Mexican stocks closed at a new record on Thursday amid optimism over the banking sector and as investors welcomed remarks by U.S. Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan suggesting the worst of the Asian crisis was over, traders said.

The IPC share index (.MXX - news) of leading stocks closed at 5802.47 points, up 4.35 percent, or 241.84 points

RE: We'll let all those high paid analysts be bearish, remember that guy from Oppenheimer? He must have missed 8000 points on the DOW!

Wasn't that Metz...I think even CNBC gave up on using him...and perhaps Oppenheimer did too....
