As to the net asset value of CMGI holdings, that can only measure the current valuations of the public properties and estimate the market value of the privately held companies. No one has yet figured out how to measure where each individual company will be years down the road.

Well I don't think there's any doubt that in the short term, we're on an exhilirating roller coaster ride. The volatility practically assures us there's going to be up days and down days as long as there is a two-sided market in a zero sum game.

The common error most individuals make about determining some sort of value for CMGI (and as of the close today, the market collectively valued it at $227 1/8) is that like a macadamia nut tree, there is more to its value than the nuts it produces in a single year's harvest. They fail to value the tree, which properly maintained, will continue to produce additional nuts for thirty years into the future.

This is more than a spreadsheet about the companies in the CMGI stable. It's also more than deal flow. It's a recurring process in a fluid marketplace that CMGI has engineered and for which it currently has no peer. JMO.

Best regards,

Mark A. Peterson
