Should have clarified... I meant, do you think anyone in Congress cares about T's entry into the internet? What they care about are anti-trust issues regarding their re-entry into a monopoly in the telephone business.

As far as ISP's caring about T's entry into cable, yeah, they talk big, but will love to see T's red ink flow as they bleed into upgrading the aging cable infrastructure to fiber or hybrid. The cable companies want to provide digital TV, and only have secondary interest in two-way IP traffic. T wants to provide VoIP and only has secondary interest in multi-media. Wonder what will happen when the infighting starts?

As far as being an idiot, I think you have already claimed that prize.

athm - important to remember and consider the impact of at&t on the equation here.
at&t can market @home as a dsl and cable service -- @home as 'broadband' and not
just internet

add in the mediaone acquisition and at&t looks like it could pose a threat to aol

which is what i saw in @home from the start, an 'aol on steroids' -- with at&t's cash
flow and billing systems, reach across telco and cable @home could be huge

Good Luck to all....
