<Having said that I think they have been hoping to transition everything over to 0.18 by then too.>

Kash
You essentially describe what I have think they have been saying all along.

1. K6-III is necessary to replace the K6-2 as the speeds get higher.

2.The K6-III is not attractive for K6-2 level of mass production until .18 microns.

3. At some time in the future, with much higher Mhz rates, the K6-III would replace the K6-2 entirely. (This idea has been revised a little by Jerry's last CC in which he said that he expects the K6-2 to live well into next year with the planning of a .18 micron version.)

4. The K6-III, going into Q2, yield as high of a revenue per wafer as the K6-2 does. $10,000 per wafer is the goal. This higher revenue per wafer should happen when the .18 micron versions are fully shipping.
