Other tests have included Staphylococcus aureus, as well as bacteria that cause influenzas, pneumonia, burn and cut infections, throat and skin infections, urinary tract infections, ear and sinus infections. Work at the University Of California at Davis has shown that the solution has the ability to completely inhibit the growth of yeasts. "Water treatment tests have shown that when used in raw river water, the ASAP Solution killed 100% of the bacterial colony-forming units in just 1.5 minutes of contact. After completing comparison tests, BYU microbiologist David Revelli concluded, ''These results suggest that American Silver's ASAP product has greater antimicrobial activity than the other silver products tested.'' "American Silver has just filed its first patent on the ASAP Solution and expects to file three more patents within the 12 months.
