Since T has gobbled up MediaOne, it's now safe to say "telephony my ass." T just used telephony, kept emphasizing on that, to make people believe it's the white knight in a position to break into telcos' local phone monopoly. Internet is the only thing in T's mind. If you don't subscribe to cable Internet, will you switch to cable phone? If you have cable Internet, the voice communication doesn't require a phone and the voice traffic is the last thing to jam the bandwidth. T will try its best not to share its pipe and will make the portal so proprietary to the pipe, there is no way AOL can compete (even if it's free of charge to AOL members.) Let's just wait and see.
