Thanks for the coherent argument. I knew I can count on someone to give me more than just one-liners. ;-)

Sometimes, though, it's really hard to see the reasons behind such pricing anomalies. That's just the complexities of market segmentation, I guess. Overlap really muddies the boundaries, but then again, some overlap is necessary if you want to cover the entire spectrum of customers.

It is good news to know that the fastest speeds of each product line (Celeron, Pentium II, Pentium III, Xeon) are in high demand, despite the warnings from guys like Danny-boy Niles. I can't wait to see how well those 550 MHz parts sell when they finally hit the market this month. Maybe then all the spook over falling prices will pass.
