Because AMAT makes equipment, not chips, and the bulk of equipment sales (profitable ones) come when new fabs are constructed. Then, orders come $100M at a time. This won't happen until there is a robust environment and anticipated undercapacity. This is why AMAT lags in the tech recoveries. However, I anticipate a fantastic quarter, and $100 per share by August!
