heheh...Yes, I suppose the internet was a useful
tool for accessing data long before browsers showed
up on folks PC's. And forget the web...modems and
company bbs's were fine long before the Wall Street
internut malarkey started up. That Curagen would
use the web to draw attention in their PR is curious.
But maybe I should not be so cynical...
"Genomics Portal", nice touch--An AGCT for effort.

Still, all kidding aside, what would be really
cool is if somebody who is actually informed about
such things came to the thread and talked about how
their lab loves Pangea or Gene Logic or Incyte or
or (gasp) Celera...or Curagen's software tools--
which make geonomic database mining a snip, er,
snap!

My totally uninformed guess is that it doesn't matter
because turning most SNP data into dollars is a few years
away...and for the time being the best play is with
the companies with the most gene patents themselves.
That said...I didn't get any reading done during my
week in the Tetons, so what I should really do is
1. Shut the hell up and finish that Gene Wars book
2. Sift through all the Steve Push notes on the GLGC
yahoo thread
3. Go back and re-read this thread
4. Throw a few intelligent questions by Rocketman
5. Report back with a more meaningful post in a week.
