<With June just 3 1/2 weeks away, is there any sign that AMD is able to produce more of their 400/450 MHz parts?>

It's hard to say. It's kind of obvious that AMD has a hard time getting the K6-III to 450 MHz. K6-2 parts at 450 MHz are more plentiful, but the K6-2 is also offered in the 475 MHz version, which is also hard to come by.

<If not, why does anybody think they will be selling 500/550/600 MHz parts in 3 1/2 weeks?>

The argument is that the K7, like the Pentium II/III and Celeron, is architected for high MHz. If AMD was able to reach 475 MHz with the K6-2, a chip that wasn't architected for high MHz, imagine what they could achieve with a chip that is.

However, I don't believe the K7 will be out until the very end of June at the earliest, i.e. more than three and a half weeks. And, at least for the following three months, I don't think AMD will be able to sell more than a handful of K7 chips at speeds above 500 MHz if they even tried.
