I was one who bailed out this week. The reason is the company is insolvent to the tune of $ 20 million. The bondholders are getting a good portion of the equity just for their three year delay in foreclosing. The company is in need of cash. OK they have two options. 1. do an equity offering which dilutes shareholder value or 2. borrow more. Now would you lend money to a bankrupt company ??. Would you want to be ahead of or behind the bondholders ? Wouldn't you want equity position as well ? These are the questions and conclusions I came to and thus sold my position.
