American Spirit: <<TECH SELL-OFF - in my opinion we're seeing a re-arrangement more than a across-the-board sell-off.>> I guess it all comes down to if you are a long term player, intermediate term or short term. If you are long term, and you bought AOL before January, you have no problems. All you will loose is some profits. IBM look fine to me as well, but Intel may be forming a double top. And MRK was subject to a descent sell off the last month or so. Like I said before if you are long term there is no trouble yet. But for those in intermediate term positions, this is a big deal, since not only could they loose their gains, but also their initial investment. You just have make sure that you preserve your capital for the next play. And I must say that almost every high tech sector has been hit somewhat. Specially the Semis.

As I see it today, the NAZ is still in a down trend, to me that is bearish, since I play short term. And there will always be a few stocks that will outperform, while the rest of the market sell off. I have witnessed in the pass when most Semis lost half of their value, a few of them were making record highs, until the day when there was across the board sell off. That day is when the high rollers will loose big and those beaten down semis will loose may be 20 % more only.
I am not preaching doom here, but this does have the looks of an early turn around. but you won't find me in the short side yet.

Regards,

Jaime

Rememebr earnings have been fine.

I guess that's a relative term, and I know you weren't referring only to the inutz. However, if we are anywhere close to the point where investors look to earnings in that sector for reassurance, those gas bags are going to deflate faster than party balloons at a cactus convention.
