Gabriel,

I must admit I was very surprised how poorly the PC sector behaved today, with the notable exception of Compaq. Given the strong, better than expected earnings from INTC, MSFT, and IBM, one would expect that a lot of the quarter-old concerns about a PC slowdown were CPQ driven.
If one further concludes that Dell will equally surprise, and there is no evidence at this point to suggest otherwise, it is odd that Dell is not behaving better with less than 9 business days to go before earnings. Then again, Dell has the ability to swing more in 9 days than most stocks in six months.

Perhaps the street is just taking a wait and see attitude given Dell's high profile.
