Keith:

As I posted in "Day trading in Canada - Realtime", I'm new to day trading and have some questions. If this isn't the appropriate thread, kindly advise and I'll post appropriately.

It's obvious that to be a successful day trader one needs reliable real time quotes. I'm guessing that I'm at a huge disadvantage using Webbroker for my RTQ's as there is no streaming data, no charts, and significant lag time. Judging by the posts in the Real Time thread, the preferred source is Canadian Stockwatch, and probably the "Daytrader" subscription is the one to look at, but I'm unclear on the price structure. Could you give me an idea what your monthly subscription costs are, and which of CSW options are necessary and which aren't. I signed up this evening for the one month trial subscription and frankly, am overwhelmed by the depth and complexity of the thing. Perhaps the answer is to merely lurk on the Real Time thread and buy and sell based on the postings of others. This obviously has some real disadvantages as I have no idea who is reliable and who is not. Some of the posts there today and tonight were a bit of an eye opener. Appears there is a little animosity as of late between certain posters. Not withstanding one rather obnoxious fellow, common consensus is both you and the Chief are reliable, accurate and helpful to the newbies, for which I am most grateful.

All the best

Joe

keith, for anyone thinking of ordering trading/TA books etc... online, they might try the new Chapters site online.

chapters.ca

Shipping by parcel post anywhere in Canada is free until May 31st, I have ordered books and received them within two/three days of shipping. Well, considering Canada Post, thats fast..LOL As a promotional gimmick right now they also have a $10 discount coupon, off your first purchase online..

With a Chapter 1 Club membership for $15 a year, you get an additional 10% discount on all orders online, as well as in their store, in additon to the online discount of 20-40%.

No, I don't own chapters shares, but love the convenience of browsing online and not having to go into the city.

No keith, you can't sit and read an entire book online..:)a slight inconvenience!

Keith/All: I thought the markets were closed today??? Great idea but comes across the wrong way unless I'm missing something. ;)

May 7, 1999 - Lifeline BioTechnologies, Inc. (OTC BB LBTI) -

schwab.com brokerage for their commissions for the Cure(TM)
provides for all commissions dollars generated Sunday, Mother's Day, May

Dr. Kevin Buckman, CEO of Lifeline BioTechnologies, stated "We applaud this
generous action by Charles Schwab. Breast cancer research constantly needs
new funding to seek out a cure for this most dreaded disease. The
statistics are sobering: Over 150,000 women per year are detected of breast
cancer, and over 45,000 of those women die."

Canadian reverse index funds? Does anyone know of any Canadian equivalents to the Bearx fund or Can. mutual funds that can go short. TIA
