Paul, I happened to be in the #daytraders chatroom when some of the regulars with pull began pushing ASTN. ASTN was easy to push cause it's in a "sexy" sector and had an upcoming CNBC piece over the weekend. I can't say that #daytraders was the catalyst, but it was a driving force to get ASTN noticed (I think it is safe to say that #daytraders is THE largest daytrading chatroom). I monitor several chatrooms throughout the day. This was a typical type of thing to hear in the chatrooms late last week.
1) ASTN has heat
2)Why ASTN?
3) I hear #daytraders pumping it
4) Why?
5 they're somehow related to ECN's and they got CNBC piece coming this weekend.

Paul, if you've never seen these type of things in operation, you should. That is how a pump and dump gets started. Look at today, TokyoJoe sent out an email to his members about a SELB partnership announcement, that sucker went from 4.5 to 9 in 20 minutes, and closed at 6.5 ish today. SELB shot up faster and crashed faster than ASTN cause it has a much smaller float. You have to understand what type of power these "trading groups" such as #daytraders or TokyoJoe have on a stock. They don't necc. have to buy all the stock, they just have to buy enough to get it noticed by other daytraders who jump in hoping to get out before the stock crashes... this is their game... and you can rest assured that when a stock has a sudden volume surge on no news that pumping by daytraders somewhere is going on. It doesn't matter if ASTN is a POS or a good stock, it got pumped, and that is why I am expecting it to get dumped. Daytraders never hold a stock for long, even if it's a good company cause that is investing and daytraders don't invest.----- Not Howie
