**OT**I agree that one should be skeptical about any claims regarding the K7 chip from AMD. Even if the K7 can tie Pentium III's in performance, they will not be able to sell them for similar prices. AMD will have no choice but to undercut Intel. Ask yourself why a consumer or businessman would purchase AMD over Intel and its powerful brand at equal prices. They won't. Intel can get better yields, make them cheaper and sell them for more. I wouldn't want to be AMD and I certainly wouldn't want to be an AMD shareholder.
