Ten Killed In Serb Hospital, Market - Govt

BELGRADE (Reuters) - At least 10 people were killed and 50 injured when NATO air strikes hit a hospital complex and an outdoor market in the southern Serbian city of Nis Friday, the Yugoslav foreign ministry said.

The news agency Beta said 12 people had been killed in the attack, four of them in the hospital complex and the others in streets around the market in the center of Nis, Serbia's third largest city. It said 22 of the injured were in serious condition.

Earlier the mayor of Nis, Zoran Zivkovic, told Reuters by telephone that cluster bombs had been dropped on the hospital and the market in the third NATO attack of the day, at around 11:25 a.m. (0925 GMT).

''Cluster-bombs hit the market, nearby buildings look like Swiss cheese. I saw four bodies in a nearby street, and police told me that so far they can confirm six killed (in the market area),'' Zivkovic said.

''Missiles hit a pathology ward, a parking lot and nearby buildings,'' said Zivkovic, who heads the city of 250,000 people.

In one of the earlier raids the airport was reported by residents to have been attacked. According to the local civil defense commander a private house was also hit, injuring four people.

The reported deaths came on the 44th day of NATO air raids aimed at forcing Belgrade to accept an autonomy deal for Kosovo.

The raids continued despite agreement by the seven leading industrial democracies and Russia to a peace deal for the war-torn province. It has yet to be accepted by Belgrade.

<< There is no proof he wouldn't flinch at killing a million people. >>

OK, I give up. What is it that you are trying to tell me about the character of Slob Milosevic? Do you think he cries himself to sleep at night, hiding under a bed, when he thinks about the many daily rapes, murders and looting performed by his military police?

Do you feel that it would bother Mad Dog Milosevic, or Dog Face, his wife, if over a million Kosovo Albanians died of starvation, beatings, deprivation, torture or lack of available medicine and health care?

<< He's only had 5,000 casualties in a very bloody civil war in Kosovo. >>

What would you do if your government took away your schools and your jobs, as Slob started doing in 1989 to the Kosovo Albanians? Would you just sit there confident, because you feel that Slob Milosevic is capable of murdering "less" than a million people?

<< And he is not "responsible for hundreds of thousands of innocent Albanian refugees", as you say. Those evictions were caused directly by Clinton and NATO. >>

There were hundreds of thousands of refugees before the first NATO bomb was dropped! Don't you ever do any research? Why do you bother posting without any knowledge of what is happening over there?

Do you really believe that hundreds of thousands of Kosovo families are going to desert their homes and possessions and medicines because NATO is bombing the Serb Military police, who is trying to drive the Kosovars from their homes?

Do you really believe that people would be so willing to risk their lives and their families because NATO is bombing military targets in their land? When has that ever happened in history to any people?

What is wrong with you? How can you possibly swallow Slob Milosevic's propaganda that families would be willing to suffer unmentionable hardships and deaths because of a military force that is coming to their rescue is bombing the enemy that has come to evict them from their homes?

Go back to sleep!
