Conversation with Ken Tepper. Rather than answering my questions via e-mail, on Friday Ken replied suggesting I call him at my convenience and he would discuss some of these over the phone. I called today and below are the original questions I e-mailed and some of the answers (I did not go through the questions 1 by 1 so some were not directly addressed) I got a good first impression of Ken and the direction they are trying to go. Regards, Rob ====================================================================== 1) Will your online banking accounts be available to customers in all 50 states? <<< YES >>> 2) Will you have a vanilla version of the site that does not require the shockwave software? <<< YES, also note that new versions of browsers (AOL/Netscape/Microsoft) include shockwave so availability is less of a problem as users upgrade. >>> 3) Do you plan to charge for the bill pay service? If so, how does that compare with competitors? <<< Not sure ... will depend on market and competition but the overall strategy does include being competitive on price >>> 4) What charges will ATM users incur when withdrawing funds. <<< Not sure yet >>> 5) I have a small C-corp (software consultant). If I open a business account with you how will I go about making my monthly IRS payroll payments? <<< Not sure. Details not fully worked out but should be able to be done online (instead of via mail) >>> 6) What do you think will lure customers to open accounts with you? (Entertaining site, service, price, etc.) <<< All of these and marketing. >>> 7) What will you be offering as far a brokerage services? Who will you be competing against (ex. discount services < $20 a trade or full service brokers) and what do you expect to make your service more attractive than the others? <<< They currently provide brokerage services so this would be extended to online customers. It is not going to be the cornerstone of the net services but will be offered and priced to compete with other online systems >>> 8) When do you expect begin offering banking account services? (3rd quarter, or staged in starting earlier) <<< 3rd is stated but working aggressively to offer it earlier >>> 9) What are your marketing plans? (starting with CDEnergy and including banking accounts). <<< Most of the marketing will begin when site is fully functional >>> 10) How many employees do you have? (still 18?) and what is the breakdown? (tellers, loan officer, programmer, etc) <<< I didn't ask this one specifically but they will value customer service highly and will outsource if needed until they have a good understanding of the staffing needs. >>>
