A thought - have the British sales pre-empted the likelyhood of IMF sales - which are much more politically charged? The British are marching to their own (currency) drummer viz a viz Europe - it was disengenuous of them, in fact an outright lie, to equate this action with Euro re-alignment - because the Euro nations did not sell their gold - merely transferred it. d

I will stay out of this debate. However, I personally think that it is unfair to judge an entire nation based on the deeds of a few politically motivated moves of the central banks.
