Question to the thread...

Thinking about the movement of the stock, would you label ATHM as more of an internet stock or a cable stock? I know ideally it is a net stock, but it is also separated from the typical net sector because of this recent news. Just curious as to different opinions.

The answer is easy. Why can't T allow anyone to access the net in the same way as has been done on copper? There is no technological reason why not. It is only the baseless rationalization that I threw out in November and Armstrong threw out in January. The rationalization is "gas, grass, or ass, nobody rides for free". This is the apparently valid claim that to the victor go the spoils, Capitalism 101 as taught at Harvard. The problem with this falsity is that it is equivalent to less is better. You want to give AOL free ride on your wires. It is elementary how this returns far more than it loses. Can you tell me why? (Hint: Does T expect to make the big money by maintaining the wires?)
