brees, actually, that is a separate issue, I was thinking more existentially, of common human aspirations. However, since you bring it up, it is difficult to transcend the world view upon which one was raised, especially in areas that are comparatively isolated, so I suppose that the basic premises are of the sort that few rise above them. On the other hand, I think that people are capable of transcendence, and therefore that they can rise above them, if aware of other options, and that they have some latitude within their traditions to make the best or the worst of them.....
