Jeez. That's why I support good HMO's. We have one. Never deny us anything, but really cut the crap. When I was paying, I too had to sit and go through the bills line by line. I remember some that were 3 to 5 pages of line by line items. And when I would ask what that was, people wouldn't know. None of them wanted to have to get off their asses and find out, either. It isn't set up that way. But individuals cannot control it. I am really grateful for the HMO being there. I don't mind paying; wouldn't mind paying for services myself, if they were fairly valued. My crutches were 198.00; I can't see them being worth over 45.00 retail. I don't think Hospital paid that. Yah, there were something like 1100.00 in O.R. miscellaney. Bullshit.

I never met any of those Drs except mine, and none of them did a thing; literally. He cut me open zoom, he drilled the hole, party over. Not four people. They stood around at the end of the table. I seriously decided they were just "there", and teamed up at the last minute to bill the ride. The thing that took the longest was that they couldn't find the goddam drill. Seriously.

"Where's my drill?" "I don't know."

That was probably the 1900.00 right there.

I get mad.
