Right, Golden Bridge. Clark pointed me to their website some months ago and I read their claims. Darrell, I don't doubt their claims in the least. Here is the deal though, when you part the curtains and look at the systems... asynchronous operation does not make sense. I see they talk about the need for fast acquisition..... I agree. If you have an asynchronous system with many intermittent data users this is important. But if you are running synchronously.... there is no need for this. Imagine, a la W-CDMA that every orthogonal channel has it's own asynchronous code word that has to be found by the matched filter each time a burst of data comes from that user. This represents an overhead constraint that is just simply not present in a coherent system. And it is a waste of system resources(data capacity)!
