Thread: Two days ago I made the rounds of stores in one area that sell Compaqs, CompUSA, Circuit City, Staples, and OfficeMax. I do not have time to go into my finding [on notebooks] right now, but I was **very** unhappy when I asked a salesman at OfficeMax when they were getting in more CPQ notebooks since only one was on display.

The fellow told me the chain was no longer going to sell any Compaqs, that from now on OfficeMax was only going to sell IBMs. He said everyone was very excited about shifting from Compaq to IBM and that it would be great for customers because an IBM technician would be at the store every day to answer questions and help people determine their computing needs.

There are a lot of OfficeMax stores in this zone and from what I have read, OfficeMax doing a good job of gaining market share from Staples. **Their** decision to drop Compaq does concern me.
