Ditto. I printed it. First non "Joke" that I have ever hardcopied from SI. At least I hope it's not a joke. Thanks for sharing that with us LindyBill.

Lindy...yes, a very good post. I sent it along to my three sons. The voices of experience, reasoning skills,....accumulated wisdom....we all see here is worth far more than the SI entry fees.

Heck, if heeded well, it's probably worth more than a stack of degrees from I don't care what college or university.

Even so, I'll pass along my personal goal, FWIW. The money I make now is not for me....it's to start an educational foundation, the earnings of which can be tapped by all my future descendants for college and mid-career re-educations. I don't quite know how to do this yet, but I'm researching the ways. The target is a $2,000,000 fund, which I manage during my lifetime, after which a private bank (or some such organization) assumes management. The first grandchild "benefactor" is now seven years away from need, and I'm 10% of the way there today. Very good chance that I'll meet the goal with time to spare.
