Wolf.. Welcome back -- to all of us :-)... Looks like a bit more work for PSUN before the next run starts, so perhaps we can fill a little time..
Oils... Normally I would defer to Counsel, and I figured the oil services had about done their thing for this run, so have lightened my position. However, have held the FSTEX, which we discussed in March. I lighened up just a little when the gain reached 50%, as that seemed too much, too fast. But I remain modestly bullish on oil and oil prices for a while yet, deferring just a little less to Counsel. Rationale: OPEC is keeping it together a bit better this time; Asia is starting to come back and is just beginning to add to demand; the summer driving season is off to a gang-buster start, So, overall, supply/demand appears to favor a stronger, rather than weaker market. The negative is that the stocks have moved ahead of the fundamental, so some correction would not be out of the question.
Other "hot prospects": E! and I are both riding LTXX and CYMI, both with nice little gains today (LTXX to a new 52-wk high). Both appear to me to be excellent speculations (CAVEAT: A TSO "Good Speculation" can mean that suvivors may not be prosecuted). So, FWIW, I put the upside for LTXX (current 7) at 30 for next year; for CYMI, target is 40 (current 19). The stocks are up from Oct: LTXX: 7/8 ; CYMI 6.
So there has already been a lot of upward movement -- and it shows you how low these speculations can go.
I continue to favor small/mid caps, but feel they can best be played in the funds. I have everyting from Baron Asset to VanWagoner Post-Venture. A partial list: BARAX, FUSMX, TPAGX, TPSCX, OBMCX, VWEGX, VWMDX, VWMCX, VWPVX. I'm hoping all will continue their excellent performance, year to date....a couple are up more than 60%.
I'm researching a bunch of prospects again, everything from UNV to MEDI, hoping to pick up maybe two or three more for the summer rally.
(The heirs are greedy -- gotta supplement the wealth the E! has caused them thus far)... Otherwise, I am looking for "good value" from my favorites, like VTSS, VECO, DPMI, etc, etc.
Enjoy your summer! Tell me about golf and similar important things! And, if all other subject matter fails, let me know how investing is gong!
Cheers! TSO
