Hi Barry,

An image file is similar to a backup catalogue. The program would take a 'snapshot' of your entire hard drive, compress it to one file (an image file) which you could restore at a later time. Problem with it though is you need a place to send the image file (CD-R, zip disk, spare hard drive, removable disk, etc...) The more data you have, the bigger the image file is.
