Will and other Thread members,

This is part II of my report...

"The Sunnyvale Pilgrimage"

I had a great time out here with my family. We had nice weather with temps in the upper 60's and lower 70's and no rain. On Sunday (5/10/99) we drove out to Monterey and visited the aquarium. We stopped along the way at a fruit stand and bought some fresh strawberries and a couple bottles of mineral water which was very refreshing. The aquarium is a class act and my kids loved it. Afterwards we drove along the coast to the 17 Mile Drive for a tour and then turned around for home after reaching Carmel-by-the-Sea.

On Monday we went to San Jose to the Happy Hollow Park and Zoo. This was a huge hit with the kids who were entertained from the get go. We had to drag them away a couple hours later with their fingernails digging into the black top because they wanted to do "just one more ride". Afterward we did a brief walking tour of downtown San Jose and ate dinner at a Japanese restaurant in deserted Japan town.

Tuesday was a beach day. We drove out to Santa Cruz and parked at New Brighton State Beach. The weather was a bit breezy and cool at first, but as the day progressed it just got nicer and nicer. We drove home through Santa Cruz and Capitola along the coast before taking a scenic route back home over Highway 9 through Boulder Creek and a breath taking Redwood Forest. We ended up in Los Gatos where we did yet another walking tour and grabbed a quick dinner.

Wednesday was the Shareholders' Meeting. Afterward I had a brief lunch with Rex at a restaurant called Faz. Then we took a family trip out to Big Basin where we hiked amongst huge Sequoias for about 2 hours. We drove back through Saratoga and Los Gatos again for dinner because we were attracted to that area from the prior day's trip.

We are leaving for home this morning. All in all it was a very enjoyable trip and I hope that the kids will remember bits and pieces when they are older.
