I have a couple of questions about Fidelity brokerage:

How's the Fidelity online trading web site? Does it
freeze or crash often? How about during market
opening and closing?

And, how long does it take usually to get a trade
confirmation?

It's not the fastest site around, but I've never had it crash or be unavailable for more than a few minutes. I don't trade during the opening, so I can't speak to that. Trade confirmations usually come back within 10 seconds or so.

Hi,

I use CyBerTrader primarily for my daytrading. I use Fidelity for my less frequent short term position trades. For that, it works fine. I use their proprietary software, however, Fox Plus. The website seems too slow for me. I can't say much about the open or close, seems fine to me. Fox doesn't crash much, not hardly at all, actually. I get confirms usually within a couple seconds on Nasdaq issues, maybe 30-60 seconds on NYSE stocks. Hope this helps.

Bill

I use the FOX software. The web site is too slow for me.

I do a lot of trades at the opening and there seldom is a problem like at other firms.

Confirms take a few seconds unless there is something huge going on like a 100 mil day on DELL.

The main problem for me is short orders. They take about 2 or 3 mins because a "human" checks for stock.
