RTev, Microsoft has benefited over the years by using stock options as a hidden method of compensation. I found this piece of the article interesting.

The new compensation levels and its associated overhead will be permanent fixed costs to the company. It will be interesting to see the percentage increase in MAT (Marketing, Administrative and Technical) costs in future earnings reports.
