I agree. Today was a nice day technically. Average volume and we held up pretty nicely. Let's put in a nice solid base here between 97 and 103 for the next couple of weeks and I think our troubles might be over. This is the first rough month emc has faced in a long time. I really really really like that the CEO didn't take this quietly. He got up there and responded, held a press conference and provided support to us shareholders when everything was on the line and we most needed support. That's the markings of a great CEO and great company. Believe me I've been in countless shitty hi-tech companies which got hammered like emc did on bad news, and their only response was a cone of silence. What a refreshing change this was! EMC has the right stuff and I think we'll see that in the future. It may take a quarter or two but they will overcome this. Their p/e is still a little too high, especially if there is a market correction, that's my only real gripe. Still if we can make the numbers then look for us back to 125 by the end of the summer. We are not going to double this year, but I will be happy if we can recover and hit 140 by next January, which I think is doable on better than expected earnings.
And HP has lost some more of my respect. Without H and P, I think HP has been adrift and knows not where they are going. Too bad because they used to be the very top guys in the tech world. I think they need to dump the present administration and find their Armstrong type guy to get on the winning track. I think HP doesn't even know what their field of expertise really is anymore. That's a tough place to be.

I don't remember if I mentioned it previously, but when I was in close contact with emc last year they mentioned that actually they considered hitachi a more serious competitor to them than ibm, and probably the top competitor in terms of products, though they really didn't sound too worried last year. So let's see how serious a threat hitachi really is. Back last year emc claimed to have a two year lead on hitachi. Anyone know what the lead emc claims now?
