Bill,

I didn't see that particular statement. If you have a link or anything let me know.

In the past he said "Greenspan had inadvertently created a stock market bubble by trying to offset deflationary forces in the economy".

Cyclical stocks host 'Happy Hour' on Wall Street

''A lot of the cyclical stocks are inflation plays because they would benefit from better economic growth around the world,'' said Bill Meehan, chief market analyst at Cantor Fitzgerald in Darien, Conn.

''But the big problem is that if investors continue to bid up the stocks aggressively, it would imply that the companies will have an inordinate amount of pricing power,'' he said.

Bill - (Did you see the next Fed Head's (Larry Lindsey) comments about the "bubble" due to easy monetary policy yesterday? )

This assumes a Gov. George Bush Presidency? Every time I see 'Larry', my brain says Larry Summers, the Treasury Deputy Secretary, also sometimes mentioned for the post, although it's hard to imagine anyone less suited. If HE had said 'bubble', it would have burst today. -g-
