Well this is really one of the significant things of marriage. A wife is really a mirror to her husband and a husband is a mirror to his wife. It takes years to develop the transparency required for true intimacy. The point at which your wife knows even your most disgusting attributes and yet loves you, is the point at which you might look into her face to see that you really are okay (and vice versa). I really do not think there is anything of any significance that I have withheld from my wife, and yet when I see her staring back toward me, I see that she gazes upon something that is adorable. God knows when she looks into my eyes she sees that I stare at something worthy of veneration. It may sound odd to some, but I think we all need to be known deeply and loved in spite of ourselves. A truly intimate marriage provides this and even much more. Lorrie is sadly mistaken that it is just a contract. She will miss out on the most intimate experience two humans can ever have should she not change.
