FOSL and TOM did very nicely today at a conference this was said about them The Wall Street Transcript publishes Apparel & Footwear Issue. FOSL is soon to report but its really overextended. It was good for a swing trade. In the last 5 trading days FOSL has gone from 31 to almost 36 today. Our other retail stocks improved nicely today, #1 May 12 triggered a buy this morning and closed at the high of the day..So we should look for a continuation of the retailers next week.. Because of the seccess of SEPR, ADRX, IMNX and some others, these kind of stocks will be finding their way more and more into the watch lists. there was a lot more to trading today than just the internet sector. NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 6, 1999--Leading analysts examine the Apparel & Footwear Industry in the just-published edition of The Wall Street Transcript, a vital review for investors and companies. 1) An in-depth roundtable forum featuring three prominent analysts; Faye Landes of Thomas Weisel Partners, Leslie McCall of Brown Brothers Harriman and Carol Murray of Salomon Smith Barney. The panel examines consumer spending trends, growth sectors, labor costs, raw materials issues, brand/retailer relationships, and stock recommendations. Other topics addressed by this distinguished panel: the impact of Generation Y, up and coming brands, the impact of the Internet, athletic footwear sector, and the future outlook for the sector. The panel offers several investment recommendations, including: Polo (NYSE:RL - news), NIKE (NYSE:NIKE - news) and Tommy Hilfiger (NYSE:TOM - news), about which McCall states, ''My top pick on the group right now is Tommy, because I think this is a story that has fewest holes that can be poked in it. They have a tremendous growth engine in their women's business and in their jeans business and in their kids' business, on top of a very stable men's wholesale business, which is actually up a little bit at retail right now, despite being fairly mature.'' 2) An ''Off-the-Record'' survey of analysts and industry experts, who praise and/or criticize 23 Apparel & Footwear companies and managements, includes several recommendations and a few admonishments. Applause from a money manager for Tom Kartsotis, Chairman and CEO of Fossil, Inc. (Nasdaq:FOSL - news), ''''Fossil has really nice products, very good control of the back end. They're excellent operationally and know where every watch is.''
