Will, I'm no expert at detecting 'hidden buying'. I understand it
is buying without the stock moving up strongly, i.e. accunulation.
I am not even sure how it is calculated. Worden Bros. in their
TC2000 charting program have an indicator they call 'balance of
power' that purports to track it. The indicator is proprietary
and no explanation of the calculation is given.

OBV [on-balance-volume] is used by many charting programs
and a definition is below.
Here's a QNTM chart showing it...
206.146.143.80

In BigCharts clicking on 'Chart Help' takes you to these
definitions. I hope this isn't too elementary.

On Balance Volume (OBV) is a momentum indicator that relates volume to price change.

On Balance Volume is a running total of volume calculated by adding the day's volume to a cumulative total when the price closes up, and subtracting the day's volume when the security's price closes down. It shows if volume is flowing into or out of a security. When
the security closes higher than the previous close, all of the day's volume is considered up-volume. When the security closes lower than the previous close, all of the day's volume is considered down-volume.
