We should be seeing a release in the next few weeks on the number of procedures performed in Q1 (Gimbel has typically done this in the past). I'm thinking that the latest action is based on those numbers (pretty hard to keep a secret). I've been tracking earnings over the past 8 quarters and I think I'll be able to tell how things went (EPS-wise) based on the procedure number, if and when they release it.

The other important factor is that this company is building up a pretty good cash position - which should make it easier for them to pay for equipment upgrades/maintenance. I believe many of the major Laser Vision Correction companies are not in the same position.
