Traders' commitments for COMEX gold futures:

commercials long 121,417, short 79,119;
speculators long 18,454, short 68,306.
Small traders were long 35,626, short 28,072.

still VERY bullish and we don't have today's action which I GUARANTEE you commercials were buying on. they are likely long over 200,000 K's as I doubt many specs had the balls to step up into today's debacle and we traded around 80,000 lots. EVERY major gold rally has started from an open interest figure of around 200,000. We were at 191,216 on Thurs (we'll get fri's on Mon). I have no doubt that is well over 200K after today's action...

silver don't look as hot but it may not matter. The S&D fundamentals there are much better...

COMEX silver futures:

commercials long 6,026, short 53,044;
speculators long 35,807, short 3,425.
