I guess there is something to be said in favor of not using credit. I have one of those Visa debit cards that works for everything a credit card does (never tried to rent a car, don't know if that would work, but airplane tickets, and all the other stuff like on the net does). I pay cash for everything. If I don't have the cash, I don't buy it.

Still renting my house, even. Been in the same house ten years, rent is below market value and below mortgage cost for a comparable house.
