Michael, NW - Over the years I have been involved in a number of complex deals in this industry. The strategy and planning can be done among a small group for a while, but as closure on the deal approaches, an ever widening circle of people get involved - lawyers, PR people, organizations that will be impacted. It is virtually impossible to have all of the information spread widely and yet not have it leak to the press or analysts. Keeping a major announcement under wraps until a few days before the event is a major achievement.
