Which [options] have the highest volatility?

july has a volatility of approximately 44 versus 38 approximately for may. maybe this can be explained by the june earnings scheduled for july 16 or some legal developments expected before the july expiration or some other factors that i am not aware of. so i don't think selling the july calls are a great play. if you want to hedge or protect your investment, buying a put is a safer way to go in my view.
