I think you write most any kind of sentence better than most anyone, my dear.

I don't mind being called elitist, but I don't like hurting other people's feelings. In my heart of hearts, I think that educated people must also have read the great works from other cultures, at a minimum I suggest Gilgamesh; The Tale of Genji; The Bhagavad Gita or The Rig Veda; and either Confucius or Lao Tsu.

I know it's hard work, but it improves the mind.
