OK, you guys have me so upbeat that I am off to go buy my good IBM friends a brewski and share a cigar with them! At this stock price, perhaps I can afford to buy more than a Swisher Sweet (VVVVBG)!

RSD, G6 has had rave reviews. All the analysts love it and it is
getting good press. Perfectly brackets Hitachi Skyline by shipping
now and sucking up all the mainframe demand ahead of the Y2K data
center freeze while Hitachi cant deliver their new system until late
third quarter or early fourth quarter and will hit smack into the
"no data processing today, thanks" response as mainframe users tweak
their systems during the fourth quarter. Those with current CMOS
(G3, G4, G5, and now G6) can all vertically upgrade by adding engines
with microcode either non-disruptively or with a minimum of a code
load and re-IML. Then in 2000, when the scare is over and it is time
to upgrade or replace systems as ERP gets front page attention again,
IBM is there with G6 and the excitement will build for G7 and more
really exciting technology advancements pushing Hitachi to the rear
again. And where is Amdahl? Lou will be telling all the analysts
about his great vision and where IBM is going strategically and
tactically tomorrow. He will be giving them a peak at the future
where IBM architectures control the server future with E@business
leading the way. Time to push further towards 240.
