Hope something happens with Altris soon....we're starting to drift. FWIW, this appeared in the Chicago Sun-Times on 5/5/99. Mastro's Fine Sports Auctions had their spring auction. The #1 sale was an Eddie Plank 1910 card that went for $203,992!. The #2 sale was 101 1952 Topps cards for $75,378 and the #7 sale was 93 Topps 1952 cards for $52,837. The least expensive item went for $230 for a wrapper from a pack of 1938 O-Pee-Chee hockey cards. I've never visited their site, but it's www.mastrofsa.com Just wanted to pass it along because,if anything, it might interest some of us sports fans for both monetary and nostalgic reasons. I have had someone come and value my collection. It's nowhere near any of the figures above, but at least when I sell them, I'll feel they're going hopefully to a enthusiast/collector.
