Kansas, and others who were in on the Datek Debacle! I guess I started the discussion with my post on Datek pulling the shares, and I think I was the one who first got 20 shares instead of 10. That came about because I asked to speak to a supervisor, and kept pushing her buttons. I had suggested that an amount of free trades equal to our loss would be in order. I also suggested that Datek could buy shares on the open market, and credit them to our accts. She said that was illegal. I mentioned that I figured the SEC would be interested in this, and she said to do whatever I felt necessary.
I believe we should pursue this furthur, especially with the SEC.
Datek was requiring us to hold the shares for 90 days, and that was my intent. I think they should put 100 shares back into our accts now, or at the end of 90 days, pay us the difference in what 100 GS closes at, minus $5300! I'm sure that there are many folks in the 500 that had to juggle their accts around in order to have the $5300 cash in their accts. No margin, so had to be cash. Some would have closed out positions that they would not have closed otherwise.
When I talked to the supervisor, she said that GS had also denied a total of 129 brokerages who thought they were getting shares! I do know of another person who had shares taken back by Wit Capital.

United Kingdom News paper is reporting that GS is currently short 1000 tons of gold and that this may represent a problem for goldman.

We'll see in the mourning.
